BA (Hons) Fine Art

Daisy Barnham

Alot of my work focuses on the celebration of women by using abstract shapes and gold leaf as my main material. I use a reductive process to create abstract shapes by eliminating everything from a photographgh except for a key area which then translates into an abstract form. I choose to use gold leaf as it makes my work feel delicate and fragile but adds beauty and also adds to the value and celebration of women. I use it aswell for the way it reacts with the surroundings, how it changes subtly due to the light.
