“I was struck by the fact that these plants did not look dead. Life was still very apparent” “It is the charm of their fragile corporality, their filigree transparency and subtle colours” Nick Knight

An investigation into the preservation of wild flowers; lead me to the creation of this collection which relates pressed roses to historical influences from the catholic religion. The word rosary (in Latin; meaning “rose garden” or “garland of roses”. Each piece is inspired by the delicate shapes and subtle colours of my pressed roses and historically tied to the sacred rosary beads through colour symbolism and material usage.

The beads reference the seasons in the Catholic religion through subtle use of colour of the floral printed silk georgette.
