BA (Hons) Architecture

Ellie Shouer

As cities evolve and develop, becoming bigger and busier, it is inevitable that human contact and community values are slowly disintegrating.

This project explores the possibility of a new community in the centre of Oldham Road, which comprises of three different types of housing and a church acting as its main core.

It is based upon the question: ' How do the buildings' s form and orientation in relation to their surroundings, affect human relations(?)'.

As a conclusion, it proposes a solution by which public space, house and church come together so that private, semi-private and public space is clearly separated and easily identified.
