BA (Hons) Textile Design for Fashion

Francesca Guarracino

I am a Textile Print Designer and illustrate my designs through styling and photography. I am particularly interested in designing digital prints for women’s wear.

I am heavily influenced by travel, culture and the natural world. This is informed by travelling the world and experiencing different cultures that feed and inspire my work.

For my degree show work I have been influenced by spirituality and the symbolism of the different signs depicting these beliefs. Each print and silhouette has been carefully designed to imbue the meaning of the symbols upon the wearer. Layering plays a big part in the collection. The Idea that people can relate to a mixture of spiritualities and beliefs is more prevalent in today’s multicultural society. This is mirrored in the collection by allowing the wearer to create a personal style by mixing layers of garments, each with its own unique spiritual based design. These ideas have been reflected in print designs, styling and photography.
