Bachelor of Architecture

Jonathan Bailey

While studying at The Manchester School of Architecture I have developed a strong interest in urbanism and developed an understanding of the workings of the city, having completed my MA thesis entitled “Metamorphosis in Manhattan” which explored the theoretical, physical and social change of Manhattan’s form over a fifty year period.

This knowledge and interest was further expanded by studying within the Continuity in Architecture studio (BArch, RIBA part II) where historic examples of city pattern, use of materials and architectural form provided a starting point for my projects.

I also have a strong interest in travel, photography and broadening my knowledge, having travelled throughout Europe, Asia and Australasia, including participating within an Erasmus course located within Catania and Venice.
