A passionate, redheaded creative thinker and do-er. I love art direction, solving problems and making things move. Whilst I enjoy both print and digital work, I have a fondness for starting tasks by hand and using these experiments to create unique outputs, particularly in digital projects. My head is ablaze with ideas.

For my final university project I created a series of animated typefaces using only everyday materials and in-camera effects. These living letters are housed within the foundry, Type Kitchen. This one is 'Bokeh'. Created by manipulating the shape of out-of-focus light.

Response to an ISTD brief to reinvent books for the 'new reader' using the short story 'The Waitress' by Jack Zipes. Like a play, many stories have 3 clear sections: a beginning, middle and end. Each section would be treated differently to represent what was happening in the story. This is a proposal for an experiential installation where people can come and read the story in a staged environment. Taking inspiration from the restaurant theme of the story (and also continuing the 3 part theme: a 3 course meal) the reader would be instructed to read the first part of the story in the 'menu'. Next, they would move on to reading the rest of the text across various plates and cutlery in the order it is used in a meal, ending with the unwrapping of an after dinner chocolate and contenting the end of the story.

These animations were comissioned to be shown on a big digital screen currently installed on the side of a Manchester Metropolition University building on Oxford Road (if you're about, go down and take a look!). This is a short title card sequence for any health related content that is shown on the screen.
