BA (Hons) Embroidery

Lani Irving

Adopting a lively mixed-media approach, I use drawing, photography, collage, hand embroidery and the construction of props to create images with a narrative feel.

Driven by imagination and fantasy, I am interested in the interplay between real and unreal elements, and two- and three-dimensional components of images.

Generally focussing on distinctive anthropomorphic characters, I aim to create surreal images which give a sense of character or a glimpse of a moment in a story.

I am interested in working in illustration, set design and prop construction for theatre or film, as well as community arts.
