BA (Hons) Textiles

Lauren Naylor

A Spring/Summer knitwear collection has become my visual expression of what I have found from my exploration of colour in deconstruction of buildings, structures, environment and the transparency and layers of fabric in my travels around cities. With a love for using a mixture of different yarns, such as, silk, lycra, monofilament and elastic, my fabrics have captured a sense of sophistication of the structure as well as a rawness of the deconstruction and layers of the environment. Influenced by Spring/Summer and Ready to Wear, I have developed garments with quite simple structure, letting the fabric create it's own shape and texture. The garments are versatile, with vibrancy mixed with with subtle shape and texture. I am passionate about new materials and exploring what can be achieved by mixing materials together. I intend to carry on with my design knowledge and technical skills that I have developed through this degree and carry that on into a future in fashion knitwear.
