Widnes: The Crucible of Lancashire.

To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” – Elliott Erwitt.

This project is a visual anthropological study, observing the way of life of the inhabitants of a small, Northern town in England called Widnes.

My photographs represent the many social activities within the town. They are observations that capture distinguishing past-times and recreational activities that also have a subtle British intensity to them.
