BA (Hons) Fine Art

Sean Liddle

Viewer involvement and participation with my work has been key to my final year practice. By engaging with a piece I hope the viewer questions and tries to understand what is happening, rather than passively looking at something. I also hope to creating a memorable and lasting effect on the viewer.

My Degree Show work consists of three plinths with crank handle and gear mechanism inside. The viewer powers the piece and creates the light inside, via a dynamo, while looking through a peep hole. This leads to an ambiguous experience of being conscious of looking, and is also exclusive to one viewer at a time.

I hope to continue my practice in Manchester, and also to get involved in creative projects in the near future. I would welcome any opportunities and hope to develop myself as an artist through commissions and gallery exhibitions.
