BA (Hons) Illustration with Animation

Sophie Irving

My work is largely influenced by nature and animals. I work primarily using traditional methods, my preferred medium being ink and watercolour. I then combine the separate elements of my artwork using photoshop to create a final piece.

This body of work was inspired by British birds and the various myths that are related to them. For example, if the Raven leaves the Tower of London, the city will fall.

I have explored the various myths associated with British birds and illustrated my favourites. The final outcome was a book entitled 'Great British Bird Myths'.
