Art History Project

The Art History Project is a ten-day research project conducted by two students exploring the presence of Art History in Manchester School of Art throughout its 175 years. The project aims to better understand what the practice of Art History has traditionally been, what it could be, and to contextualise it in relation to other practices in the Art School.

Examining the boundaries between research and practice, we will be situated in the Grosvenor Building, using the physical space as an active facility for research. This will include both academic texts and archive material, as well as alternative forms of research.
