Ailsa Lishman

I am a printed textile designer for interiors, who uses a mixture of screen print and digital techniques within my designs.

For my degree show collection I have taken inspiration from Brutalist and Modernist architecture, to create a bold and graphic interior print collection. In contrast to this, previous collections have been inspired by natural forms and hold more organic qualities.

Drawing is a key part of my practice, and an integral process to the creation of my designs. As well as hand drawn techniques, I also use Illustrator to draw with which has led to creating the bold shapes and marks especially prominent in this latest collection.

Through the exploration of different concepts, processes and colour palettes, I have produced a versatile range of designs, which can be applied to a variety of interior based products such as wallpaper, bedding and upholstery.
