In previous years I have developed my work as a sound artist to include elements of field recordings, found sounds, electronics and diy circuitry, installations and sculpture pieces. Through various solo shows and residencies I have explored a number of concepts as well as experimented with elements of human interaction.
More recently I have been researching the history of modernist architecture and how this can link with the work of sound artists. My research has led me to a more focused look on brutalist buildings and the social aspects and implications to those residing in these structures. This subject area has taken my practice in a new direction by introducing concrete as a prime material. I have been making various small concrete objects and have been experimenting with incorporating electronics into these objects. My work with concrete continues to expand as I am continuously pushing the material into different applications.
