The era of communication technology has given us the ability to share information wirelessly, meaning we are set free to wander and explore; we are evolving into a nomadic culture. As humans we are always wanting more, always yearning to discover what is not yet found. The nomadic culture creates a new lifestyle, one that is portable, multi-functional and where objects accommodate for constant change.
In response to this the Nomadic Companion was formed, a set of components which can be adapted to accommodate the needs of the moving wanderer.
With a conceptual approach to design I develop three-dimensional forms that consider a sensual need for tactility. Through drawing, material research and play I aim to create design that has a personal connection to its user, in both touch and function.
