My practice focuses on tension; using emotional and physical tension to evoke a reaction or feeling from the audience. I have played with the idea of pushing things to their limit; how long can you make someone wait or how you can manipulate objects to represent this. Delaying tactics create expectation from the audience, and expectation creates tension as you wait for something to happen. I have also played around with the idea of anti-climax and disappointment, as tension and expectation often concludes with that. My work is mainly video work; I have used and learnt a lot about sound and music alongside it. John Cage's 'Lecture on nothing' inspired a lot of my work. I have also looked at the difference between video and photography and how the experience of the work differs depending on the medium.
