What unifies my work is my methodology: I make things that bolt onto the environment enabling me to offer a different perspective on a particular space. In my practice I am inseparable from materials. I am enthusiastic for tangible materials to evidence an idea or process and sometimes the process determines the outcome.
My degree show piece, Pipeline, is a result of my curiosity in the functional and historical past. I became obsessed with the ins and outs of an outwards facing vent I came across earlier this year.
Part of the palace hotel, this vent and the extensive network of pipes connected to it, are essential structures within the architecture. I am fascinated by the fact that this extravagent building relies upon small banal features in order to function.
