Inspired by rhythm, repetition and structure in the urban environment, my work this year has explored a range of materials and techniques to create a collection of multifunctional surfaces and forms.
Working with the laser cutter, I have developed a technique that transforms a 2D surface into a 3D form. Colour is applied through dying techniques which explores pattern, whilst my choice of materials allows interaction with light.
The possibilities for my work are vast and I have adapted my work for the body, interiors and an installation environment. This versatile, flexible approach is something I aspire to continue, enabling me to progress through different areas of design.
