Helen Hazel Thompson
My work has been inspired by natural forms the odd twisted shape of a leaf or light hitting a wall creating shadow, or the mysterious narrative within architecture. This year I have begun to develop ideas that are more directly to do with time or my spiritual or emotional response to an experience given expression in paint. However in a contemporary context my work sits with artists such as Sarah Pickstone who’s lyrical drawing in paint is part inspired by poetry. I can also place my work within the context of work by Caragh Thuring with its intuitive painting and representations of space and architectural structure.
