Textiles in Practice
BA (Hons)

I am interesrted in turning a flat image into a 3 Dimensional piece of art, bringing an image to life and drawing the viewer in.

Creating digital prints from microscopic slides that have been manipulated through the extraction and injection of colour has provided a wealth of imagery from which to utilize in my design work. The incorporation of foiling and hand embroidery has served as a vehicle from which to further develop my ideas through into other materials such as perspex, foam and wood. It is in the construction of these 'one off' pieces that has allowed for a clear design identity to emerge, suitable for a corporate interior context or installation pieces for a gallery.

I intend to continue with my practice and welcome the oppourtunity to work within a comission or collaborative context. I would also welcome the oppourtunity to work as an intern within a print design company to broaden my knowledge base before applying for a MA.
