Textiles in Practice
BA (Hons)

Exploration and experimentation of material qualities such as laser cutting Perspex, is intrinsic to the approach and development of my hand - woven samples. Within this, my practice focuses on creating experimental textiles for a range of contexts from women’s outerwear fashion to being placed in architectural spaces. A continuous presence of conceptual research has run throughout my practice, the science behind biomimicry is an approach to innovation that seeks sustainable solutions for the future by emulating nature’s patterns and strategies.

By attempting to this concept, I have revealed the theme that consists around protection. By undertaking a variety of different working methodologies I had the ability to develop and produce 3- dimensional outcomes on the loom. The collections capture elements of order, repetition and control that aim to portray innovative design. I aspire to create beautiful, one off luxurious pieces of artworks through using technology applications and experimental approaches to achieve an excellent quality.
