THE UNDERCROFT

Stories of bloodshed and violence ripple through the murky waters of the Piccadilly Basin. Ghosts of the 19th century Scuttlers still creep beneath the shadows, out of sight and out of mind.

Through the raw art of boxing building strength, confidence and discipline, The Undercroft aims to bring these people out of the shadows and into the city.

Drawing upon context and place, the powerful steel form thrusts into the city skyline creating a series of emotive spatial experiences, its raw structure exposed and enriched through the patina of age, embracing life’s imperfections.
