Textiles in Practice
BA (Hons)

My work infuses knit with mixed media, encasing circular objects within knit, which is based on my research into bacteria morphology. Using a range of materials I have created a hybrid collection of unique installation pieces that illustrate my interpretation of the visually inspiring bacteria. Bacteria and its morphology can only be seen under the microscope, my aim for this body of work was to invert this and make the invisible visible. Experimenting and testing has been key to my practice, using the inherent qualities of my chosen materials to advance my design, which has helped me to gain a more professional outcome. My future aspirations are to complete a Master’s degree in Textiles- where I will develop my existing practice and experimental approach to materials further.
