Textiles in Practice
BA (Hons)

I am a diverse designer currently specialising in accessories and jewellery. Using a combination of object collaboration, melting and application techniques; I have created a contemporary collection of jewellery for women.

Using the principles of clutter and the way in which we over consume as inspiration, I have created a collection that clearly reflects a huge issue that we can all relate to in some form or another. My current way of working also allowed me to explore the notion of upcycling and pushing modern boundaries by using none conventional items to create my work.  The source materials for my work was a collection of different objects I gathered from “junk” stores and charity shops.

Using a combination of experiments with these objects and using different techniques I have developed a unique style within my work by focusing on creating unusual shapes, forms and colour combinations.
