I am a knit student, with a focus on using experimental materials together with hand and machine knit techniques, to create innovative, tactile surfaces.
Inspired by the idea of encapsulation, within nature, I have experimented with different materials to work with the knit structure. The inclusion of melted plastic and latex increase the tactile experience of the samples, while the additions of foils and beads add hints of colour and break up the black.
The work I have created is for body adornment, almost to encapsulate and encase a body part.
After graduating, I intend to continue with my experimental approach to knit. I will explore different freelance knit opportunities, whilst gaining valuable industry experience through internships.
