Industrial Landscapes

This project is based on documenting the landscapes around us, focusing on areas of land that we often ignore and dismiss. I began looking at the industrial revolution researching how industry based towns developed over time, becoming a necessary part of life for many people.

The use of perspective is important to this series. It allows for a detailed overview of the landscapes to be viewed, capturing them in as much detail as possible to show how the industrial towns developed, formed and have now become a part of the natural landscape.

Photographing the small reminders of the industrial revolution through the mill towns of West Yorkshire, this series focuses on the merging of the natural and industrial landscape. These images act as a form of documentation, surveying areas of land through highlighting the industrial legacy that has been left behind.
