Textiles in Practice

I am a textile designer specialising in embroidery for interior markets. I am heavily influenced by urban spaces and architecture. This visual research has inspired and nourished my most recent collection. I have primarily focused on capturing the patterns and shapes produced by the elevations of buildings when seen from differing perspectives, and in observing the negative spaces found between buildings and from rooftops skywards. Layers, fragments and vistas piece together the city around me and appear translated in the work through layered shapes, flickering metallics and juxtapositions of surface textures.

Aims for the future are to gain work experience within the textile industry in hope to become a freelance designer and work on various collaborations and commissions.
