Textiles in Practice
BA(Hons)

“The role of gender in society is the most complicated thing I’ve ever spent a lot of time learning about, and I’ve spent a lot of time learning about quantum mechanics.” - Randall Munroe.

As a conceptual textile designer I use the medium of print to illustrate and bring awareness to difficult to talk about issues. Inspiration stemming from gender roles and equality themes I have created a series of poster designs turning statistics into graphic visuals. An interactive piece I invite the audience to disrupt and engage with the prints to alter the statistical balance of the design, thus aiming to highlight and promote a move towards a gender balanced society.
