Hakanai can be translated from Japanese to define the ephemeral and fragile, it is a word that celebrates the beauty of a short existence.

This body of work is an exploration into this word, specifically into the ephemeral nature of light and how these fleeting moments can beautify and transform the mundane in the everyday. With an intention to capture the scenes often overlooked by passers-by, these images also briefly touch on the ephemeral nature and fragility of life, as well as celebrating it.
