Textiles in Practice

As a designer I am extremely excited by the process of combining hand and digital techniques in order to blur the boundaries of design. Taking a lively approach to sampling, I attempt to push the limits of material combinations.

Inspired by the organic textures and colours that surround us everyday, I work towards producing a range of innovative and tactile wall surfaces.

Directly printing textures by hand to create organic marks form the basis of my work. These are then translated into digital processes, testing and challenging my ideas through sampling.

Exploring and combining a range techniques such as laser cutting, heat manipulation and handcraft techniques has enabled me to produce a collection of surfaces, showing a range of possibilities.

The surface designs I create are focused towards interior and installation environments. My aim is to further my knowledge in this area through work experience with others already in the industry.
