An artisan bakery, café and school creates the final edge for a newly designed square outside Oxford Road station. Three distinct blocks each with a different programme, materiality and atmosphere are grouped together to form industrial facades which fit with the vernacular. Taking inspiration from old industrial factories within the context of Manchester, towering chimneys and grey bricks reference and expand on these ideas. Spaces are organised around a central glass void which acts as the building hub. Factory style aesthetics characterise the space internally with exposed steelwork, polished concrete floors and over scaled brick ovens.
