Textiles in Practice

Having a keen interest in vernacular British textiles, I respond to naturally occurring colour in the everyday while at the same time aspiring to expanding my design inspiration beyond my immediate locale. From this start point I design woven fabrics in bright, vibrant colour combinations for a contemporary audience.

Hand dyed yarns provide a personal, fluid colour palette and reflect an appreciation and understanding of the traditional crafts, in the pursuit of design resolutions that embrace the commercial and the bespoke in their outcome. I see much of my work as a re-interpretation of these traditions and techniques and an investment in the longevity of textiles.

Future aspirations include; a placement with Melin Tregwynt, a Welsh weaving mill with a global outlook and client base; post graduation.
