Matthew Walker

Master of Architecture

I seek to explore hidden patterns of use in cities. Through complexity theories and big data, I have been able to extrapolate potential future urban scenarios, providing spatial solutions to future problems. Generative computational approaches have been undertaken, allowing building designs to emerge from initial set conditions. I am fascinated by a person’s ownership and authorship of the city, writing about how culture and space are co-constitutive, evolving over time in mutually symbiotic relationships. I have explored this through many years of skateboarding, the sub-culture having a strong presence throughout most of my life.
