I am a socially engaged ceramicist producing hand thrown vessels which communicate the often overlooked humanity of homeless individuals. I express this humanity through exploration of the profound object relationships between homeless individuals and their sentimental possessions. These object relationships tell intimate stories of loss, grief, and happiness which I strive to authentically represent in my vessels. These narratives are exposed to me during residencies and workshops in which I attempt to deliver tangible change through the facilitation of creativity as a form of expression. This socially engaged approach expands and enriches my practice as I deliver subtle social commentary.
