Once at the heart of industry, to many people the town of Rochdale now boasts nothing more than mass unemployment and abandoned shop fronts, takeaways, rundown buildings and charity shops, but the experience of growing and living there is somewhat different.  Gracie Fields Comes Home is a project based in nostalgia, and showcases the warmer reality of every day life in a working class town, aiming to challenge the negative stereotypes through a dialogue of text and image.  It is a project on how we recognise the positive aspects of our hometowns, our families and surroundings, and on the truthful experience of existing alongside the negatives with unwavering loyalty to the place we call home.
