I combine unconventional materials with contemporary technologies to create three-dimensional tactile surfaces that respond to patterns, shapes and structures found within our immediate surroundings.
My practice predominantly involves experimental manipulation of materials that are typically found within industrial setting and environments. Adopting an investigative and risky approach to making, which challenges the original application and intended use of these found materials.
The presentation of my work is a key focus within my textile practice. I enjoy using photography to expose interesting surfaces and to create inspirational imagery.
My experimental textile work is applicable for a wide variation of design fields including design forecasting, fashion and interiors; recently I designed and created earrings for Ella Grace James graduate fashion collection.
My future aspirations are to further explore the many different ways in which I can develop and apply my textile practice whilst gaining invaluable industry experience through internships and collaboration opportunities.
