Laurissa Lindsay

Textiles in Practice

My working process originates from the abstract elements of everyday, unpicking rare details from my surroundings at home in Ireland and here – Manchester which is a constant source of inspiration in my work.

My working process starts with drawing and mark making responding to pattern and textures observed, my interpretations are unique and playful.  My ideas are translated onto cloth combining processes such as embroidery, digital and screen-printing.

Colour is the main point of interest in my work, maintaining a bright, bold and graphic theme. My use of colour allows me to create my own individuality and flare in my practice.

My unique prints are made for the use of childrenswear, menswear and interactive.

My future aspirations are to work with a surface pattern design team in the industry and continue to develop my own practice.
