My work explores the beauty in the sea's detritus, using ceramics and mixed media to convey shapes found on the beach. I work in a slow collaboration with the sea, as each tide brings a new feast of intriguing shapes and textures, both natural and manmade; I am fascinated by what might result from responding to and utilising such detritus in combination with clay, My work cannot exist without input from the sea. In my current work I blend the pod shape found in 'Egg Wrack' seaweed and sea washed pebbles, along with other found objects. I develop multiple pieces that are a hybrid between natural and manmade, the sea and the maker.
