In my practice I explore everyday materials by challenging their properties structurally and aesthetically through unexpected combinations to create a perception of confusion and contradiction. Working mainly with plaster and the process of casting to reproduce unlikely patterns and textures.
Taking throw-away materials that we fail to acknowledge in everyday life and recognising their beauty by transforming them into another forms, still leaving a sense of their origin.
Do the objects get you thinking about commonplace materials in uncommon ways? Is a question I ask myself after making work.
