My work explores architecture within the urban landscape and has been a reoccurring theme, shaping my practice over the past year. An initial focus on re-working architectural structures into minimalistic two-dimensional forms shifted when I adopted a more holistic approach to my practice, responding to the contradictions of the static and transitory forms.
My 'Tape Series' and 'New Spaces' series - part of an ongoing exploration into the phenomenology of space demonstrates the way in which I use two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms within a sculptural context. This creates imagined spaces, extending the viewer's ability to navigate around architectural interiors.
Through re-engaging with non-spaces within a particular area, the forms created through the use of line are a map of my intuitive response to the space of which I am situated within.
