“The institutionalisation of silence of the others assures the durability of power”

— Jacques Attali, Noise: The Economy of Music (1977)

Sound is unapologetic. It possesses the ability to mark its own territory. It is a complex subject that requires a delicate approach.

The minimal structures are built with sonic consideration, aims to highlight the power dynamic within the sonic and its spatial presence. Alongside questioning the latent power a listener has and how these structures can help unlock this potential.

Our dependency on visual hinders our aural senses, as we only note sound when we attend to it. The work dismantles this notion through the act of withdrawing and reinstating sound.
