Textiles in Practice

As a colour and material designer I work in a playful and imaginative way. I am fascinated with process and how it can be used as a method of research. Through process exploration I discover innovative colour and material qualities. Unconventional materials are key to my practice and I use material manipulation to challenge their intended use. The surfaces I create have intriguing characteristics that generate enquiry, they want to be moved, squished and poked.

The aim of the work is to create escapism for the viewer through this sensory engagement. I have created a colour and material environment to spark curiosity and I encourage the viewer to touch and interact with the objects.

My future intentions are to continue developing my practice and to gain experience through internships.
