Sunainah Khan

I create conceptual pieces using drawing, sculpture, textiles and video installation, exploring cultural contradictions in modern society. I have been looking at the challenges that women from different backgrounds face in their everyday lives. I draw on personal experience of growing up as a Muslim woman in 21st century England. I work with my body, clothing and everyday materials. By combining materials, form, and context in deceptively simple ways, I hope to stimulate both physical and cultural associations when people encounter my work.
