Demilade Okunfulure

I have created a youth centre which fits within the typology health and leisure. This building is occupied by
ProjektsMCR which is an organisation where skateboarders can make use of their skatepark. As well as this they offer classes to young people of different ages throughout the year. Their main headquarters is located
underneath the Mancunian Way bridge, to the south of my site. The aim of this project was to create a building that served as not just a learning environment but also a place where children and teenagers can come and have fun. The centre offers a range of facilities such as a teaching kitchen, a skateboard design workshop, an indoor
playroom and many more. As a way of creating unity between my building and its context, I created a dynamic cantilever which bridges across the scope of the site, connecting the skatepark and the River Medlock.
