As a practitioner, my interests form through exploring the mundane and overlooked. From living between rural and urban I have become fascinated with the depiction of space. I believe that we often become blind to our surrounding environments due to being constantly submerged in it. Using screen print, etching and film photography I abstract general landscapes, aiming to draw upon an individual’s memory of a place. The landscape I choose to document is not necessarily important for viewing my work regardless of its meaning to me. I believe landscape itself is personal to each individual and its meaning can’t be replicated to another person. This is why I choose to abstract, allowing you to interpret through employing past experiences.
