Rachael Shui-Kay Yeung

As we are now in a predominantly digital age, technology is used by most of us every day. During the development of my current print collections I have taken this concept further. I am particularly interested in how application software, designed to run on smart phones, tablet computers and other mobile devices, can be used within textile design for fashion.  Amongst others, pixilated retro games and kaleidoscope photo editing applications have been used as sources of inspiration during an experimental approach to exploration of low and high tech technology within my work. Other working methodologies include responding to visual information by drawing and mark making; utilizing digital editing skills are also central to my working methodology. The collections are largely aimed at young adults who like to create an individual identity using both fashion & technology-based applications.
