Viewing the Rochdale Canal as an asset to the city but failed to be fully utilised and appreciated nowadays, there is a strong intention of creating a space where the value of the canal could be enhanced. The Wharf Hall is a visually and acoustically beautiful recital hall for people to make and appreciate music. Through the form of a wharf-like public recital hall, it is aimed to create a public space where people gather by the Rochdale Canal and share the joy of music at the same time recognising the importance of the canal.
