Emily Mate
As a print designer, my aim is to produce work considered to be playful and fun and somewhat unique. I enjoy working with abstract forms and bold, sometimes clashing, colours and motifs. Through my exploration of practice, I found a deep love for digital printing techniques and have worked towards building strong skills within this specialism.
My current collection Urban Flora works to combine two of my biggest loves – street art and florals - pulling inspiration from one of my favourite artists Antwan Horfee and the wonderful graffiti art seen around Manchester City Centre.
During my time here I have been fortunate enough to work with Birmingham-based print design studio Ensell & Hall on a freelance basis and have had the opportunity to work with London-based company Contrado Imaging Ltd. to produce the final products for the Urban Flora collection. Post-graduation I wish to continue to pursue both endeavours.
