Hotspur House & High Street is a micro-city within the centre of Manchester, operating as a co-operative. It combines co-living and co-working with a host amenities and entertainment spaces, designed to encourage the integration of its mixed income residents. The development has been designed for people who share a desire to live life connected to those around them. It is a diverse community of members, who are equally invested in maintaining affordable city centre housing. To achieve this, all residents must contribute to one of nine societies, according to their interests and skill set. Collectively, these societies are responsible for the mutually beneficial running of the co-operative. This reciprocal approach to work inspired the interior design of the abandoned Hotspur Press, which is a series of connected spaces that feed into one another.
