Eleanor Brennan

Fine Art

Eleanor’s practice concerns itself with the removal of the archaic ideologies surrounding craft, and repurposing traditional methods for contemporary applications. Having learnt many of her current techniques from family members or by herself, she hopes that her work champions self-education and communal learning.

Growing up in the North East of England, as well as a strong personal connection to food have helped to develop her practice into a humorous exploration of comfort foods, and the everyday in which they exist.

Believing that personal morals should not be cast aside by artistic practice, Eleanor creates functional, ‘waste not want not’ textile pieces, that encourage public interaction, and welcome the viewer to take a pew and have a chat.
